" Work while you work and play while you play, this is the way to be happy and gay. ”The .Art Festival① held in our school let us have a good time after the hard work of a long term .On Friday afternoon at the end of last term, our class, that is, Class 5 of Senior Two, had a wonderful party to celebrate this happy festival.
First we had music and dance----piano sonata②, exciting songs, brilliant waltz③ dance, then most popular disco④ music, etc, ---- all this made us extremely happy.
Then we had one competition after another. It was soon about five o'clock before we knew it. The most exciting program began: Cooking Competition . Each group of our class had to make some special dishes . At once students became cooks, though they coudn't tell the salt from gourmet powder⑤ the day before.
At seven o'clock all dishes were ready." Ah, it tastes wonderfully delicious,”someone shouted. Then here and there applause was heard.
At last we had to finish our party . When we said good-bye to each other, we had the same feeling in our hearts: " We wish to have more and more of such wonderful time in our school life. We young students need to be happy after our lessons . Our life should be filled with joy.”

Last week we held our school art festival. Betty and Peter hosted the ceremony. The students gave one performance after another. The performances were very exciting and interesting. The acrobatic show was the most interesting item. And the dance was the dullest item. I like the comic dialogue very much. It was amusing. The festival ended with the headmaster's closing speech. We had a good time at the School Art Festival. We were also proud of ourselves because we did everything by ourselves. Neither our teachers nor our parents helped us with our performances. Our teachers and parents were proud of us, too.。
My Favorite Artists It's hard to narrow it down to just a set list of artists as I have been influenced by so many artists over the years. I also fall in and out of love with particular artists, but a certain few always remain close to me.Brett Whiteley - Brett was my doorway into art. He showed me that painting can be more than what is simply in front of us. His drug habit ruined much of his art and life before he died, but he is still at the top of my list.Vincent van Gogh - Vinnie will always be near the top of my favorite painters list. Both his passion for art and his paintings have given me endless inspiration.Pablo Picasso - The little Spaniard lived a very full life but he still found plenty of time to draw, paint, and sculpt. Whenever I'm not working as much as I should be, I think of how many works Pablo pumped out each year.Egon Schiele - I have always had a love of drawing, so Schiele has to be on the list. His paintings are very average, but his drawings are to die for.Andy Warhol - To be honest, I don't really like the work of Andy Warhol. But he made artists feel a little less guilty for taking money from art collectors. He helped me see that it's OK to make a living from art.Alberto Giacometti - Alberto's paintings and drawings are just amazing. He sacrificed color to devote himself to form.Anselm Kiefer - I have never seen a whole exhibition by the artist, but the few works I have seen were pretty impressive. His works are massive chunks of paint and texture. There are so many more great artists that I just adore. I know that the seven artists above will still be in my top 20 in twenty years time though。
Our school art festival is held once a year. I think this year's was excellent because a lot of students and teachers took part in it. At first, the students of Class1 Grade6 danced the Gangnam Style. How wonderful they were! Then, English teachers had an English Choir. How good they were! I liked these two programs. Finally the students of Class3 Grade7 sang pop songs. They sang so wonderfully! At last they won the first prize.。
Art has long been a highly revered discipline in our world. Art exists in every aspect of our lives, whether in architecture, cuisine, or even manners. Art perverses our daily lives because it panders to our perception and our reaction to things. Our ancient history proves that art has led us to our modern world, progress, and happiness. Leanardo DaVinci and Michaelangelo are just few of the many testaments to this immutable truth. One of the pleasure in majoring in art is that I can learn to discern the beauties of life, Art major teaches me how to appreciate the everyday beauties of our world, and the discernment of the ordinary miracles abundant in our life is just one of the ways of deepening our emotions and values for the Earth. The other pleasure in majoring art is that I can create art, in simpler terms, create happiness. The ability to do so will greatly satisfy my personal thirst for contribution towards life and will also help others see what they could not see.。
