270年2月14日 羅馬圣教徒瓦倫丁被處死，此日被后人定為“情人節(jié)”
瓦倫丁節(jié)，又稱情人節(jié)，是歐美和大洋洲的一些國家的民族節(jié)日。此節(jié)日的來源甚多，但一般是以羅馬圣教徒瓦倫丁被處死，后被定為“情人節(jié)”較為普通。
公元3世紀(jì)，羅馬帝國出現(xiàn)全面危機，經(jīng)濟凋敝，統(tǒng)治階級腐敗，社會動蕩不安，人民紛紛反抗。貴族階級為維護其統(tǒng)治，殘暴鎮(zhèn)壓民眾和基督教徒。是時有一位教徒瓦倫丁，被捕入獄。在獄中，他以坦誠之心打動了典獄長的女兒。他們相互愛慕，并得到典獄長女兒的照顧。統(tǒng)治階級下令將他執(zhí)行死刑。在臨刑前，他給典獄長女兒寫了一封長長的遺書，表明自己是無罪的。表明他光明磊落的心跡和對典獄長女兒深深眷戀。

1、希臘神話 阿瑞斯，Ares 戰(zhàn)神，宙斯和赫拉所生。
