So far, my high school experience has been one of many choices being made. Throughout these past three years I have had to make many choices, many of which have impacted my relationship with my friends, teachers, and coaches. However, no decision was harder than one I made this year in this past soccer season. This decision was not exclusively my own but one I shared with my father. This dilemma involved pulling me, the captain of the varsity soccer team off the team because of a problem between the coach and me. My father came to this decision because the coach was using me, whom he had made a captain and a focal point of team, as a scapegoat for the team's losses and hardships. This was a very tough, and complicated situation in which myself. This decision to leave the team, a group of my friends, was probably the most difficult one for me to make; however, I feel it was a good one. Despite the fact this decision was not exclusively mine, I still feel that my father looked out for my best interest and I am grateful for that. Though this decision was difficult, it did open many other doors for me. I refused to dwell on the fact that all I had worked hard for had been taken away from me in one fell swoop. Instead, I tried to show resiliency and bounce back by joining clubs and making the honor roll. Even though I had achieved success on the soccer field as a player, it was not a healthy situation in which to keep myself in. Although I am a person who has always been able to take criticism, my coach's behavior and words had degenerated to a level where it was affects my own self - respect and dignity. Both my dad and I agreed that we could not allow this to happen. After I left the team, I contemplated whether or not my father and I had made the right choice or whether I should have abide by my dad's decision or go against it. It came down to a talk with the Athletic Director that further persuaded me to stay off the team at least for the remainder of。

It ' s my honor to be here to tell you something about the school life in the US.Most American students ,few of whome cycle to school,go to school by bus or on foot. Many students have their lunch at shool after vhich they never have a rest .At 3 o'clock ,when it is the time the last class of the day come to an end ,they enjoy themselves in playing bastetball ,playing football ,swimming etc.How wonderfully they live。
Life in American schools are very much different from the schools in China. They are more focused on the activities of the students and their daily performance whereas in China, the schools are more focused on the students results. Also, the American education looks more into the students understanding power but chinese education is mainly about memorization. The students in America have to sit for tests almost everyday but they donot usually have alot of homework to do. Instead of homework, they have projects and activities. The chinese students have alot of homework and only a few tests. The schools in America also arranges alot of school activites and outings for the students to interact more with the things they are learning or studying about. In china, the informations and knowledge are mainly obtained from the books which makes the lessons monotonous unlike the lessons in then American schools. The amount of students in each class in American schools also differs from the amount in the China. There are around 20-30 students in each class but there are almost 40-50 students in each class in China. This greatly decreases the amount of interactions between the teacher with one student. The timings in American schools also differs, the schools usually ends at 2pm because each class only lasts for 45mins as they think the brain works best in the first 45 mins and needs a break after that. In China, the schools end at 4pm and usually each lesson last for an hour or two.

Modern American culture is a juicy burger of mass culture garnished with 15 minutes of fame. It owes as much to marketing savvy, communications technology and mass-production techniques as it does to artists and entertainers. If you can name it, American companies have invented, packaged and disseminated it to as many consumers as cheaply and conveniently as possible.。
Happy Life at School
Catherine Wang arrived in the UK in January 1999. In order to develop and extend her English language skills, she spent the first few months at Sherborne International College. Then she joined Aldenham to take a two-year'A'level course, which will enable her to enter a British university.
Catherine found that the emphasis on maths and science in China had equipped her well for two of her“A” levels----maths and physics. To challenge① her imagination, she chose art as her third subject. She said it was quite rewarding② and challenging.
Although Catherine left a little, lonely at first, she said she was very grateful for the friendliness shown to her by the teachers at Aldenham.
Catherine has found the international mix of cultures very refreshing③.As well as making friends, both boys and girls from a number of cultures, Catherine found it comforting to meet other Chinese pupils at the school.
The house facilities④include a separate girls' sitting room and the use of a kitchen, though, she said the school food was good.
She is a hard working pupil and values the opportunity to study in England. She hopes her results will enable her parents to be proud of her achievements. Catherine plans to study at a leading university in the UK before returning to China to work.
Summing up her time at the school, Catherine said,“I have been very happy at Aldenham and I know I will never forget the experience. I have learnt a great deal from the English culture and my English has improved enormously⑤. The school has been good at recognizing the needs of foreign students. For example, we went out as a crowd last week to celebrate the Chinese New Year. It was great.”
A是最好,F(xiàn)是最壞,I是半途而廢。
