Ulta Haul

During Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Event, I went a little crazy.. I knew there were two items on sale I definitely wanted, so I spent some time deciding on the additional items I wanted to buy to get my orders to at least $50 so I could get free shipping. Not shown are the cotton pads and q-tips I also got!
Laura Gellar Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation, Medium. I have been eyeing this foundation for about a year or so, so I jumped a the chance to buy it when I saw it was on sale! I got the shade medium and it works so well with my complexion. I use it either alone or when I need more coverage, I add Glossier Skin Tint under. Either way, my skin looks even and brighter. It lasts all day and since it’s a powder, it keeps oiliness at bay. As is the case with all powders, a little goes a long way!

Mally Face Defender with Sponge. This was another product I’ve been eying for a while and finally took the plunge. It really helps to create a matte look and also diminishes the appearance of pores on my nose. One thing that bothers me about this product is that it’s a pretty bulky compact and the sponge is loose, there’s no place for it in the compact. Not sure how to travel with this, but besides that I really like this so far.

Physicians Formula Mineral Correcting Powder. I really like setting powders (hate to be oily!), and all the ones I have are loose (here and here) which are hard to travel with. This pressed one has different colors for different purposes: pink brightens, green tones down redness and yellow adds warmth.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush. I’ll admit it, I mostly bought this because it’s so pretty! Apparently this contains a plant extract that promotes happiness. I don’t know if there’s any truth to that, but I sure get happy just looking at this beauty! I got the Rose color which is a bit darker and less bright than the Natural color. I’m excited to use this in the upcoming dreary winter months.

Real Techniques Bold Metallics Brushes. This are beautiful and I haven’t tried RT brushes yet. Crazy, I know, since they’re so popular and raved about! I haven’t used them much, but already find they’re so soft and work really well. I look forward to giving them a full test and writing up my review on this very loved product.

  • Those RT bold metals brushes look beautiful! I want the contouring one 🙂

  • Mineral powders are the best! 🙂 And the brushes look great! 😀
