Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Oil-in-Cream Review

As you know, I received a deluxe sample (value of $9) of the Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Oil-in-Cream in the Birchbox Vanity Affair box. I’ve been using it almost daily since I received it so I’ve had plenty of time to gather my thoughts on the product.

This is a leave in treatment that moisturizes hair, nourishes dry strands and tames fly-aways. It leaves hair smooth, shiny and manageable without weighing down hair. It also contains Camellia Oil which protects and hydrates your hair so you can use it as a pre-blow dry treatment.

I let my hair air dry, so I’m not using as a protectant. My hair is frizzy so I use this to make my hair smooth and to make it look polished. The first few times I used it I used too much (they recommend a dime size amount), so while my hair looked great that day, it looked super oily the next. Since then, I have been using less and trying to keep it away from my roots. My hair looks great with very little effort.

The sample size I have is 1oz while the full size is 5oz. A little goes a long way with this product, so even the sample size will last a very long time.

I still haven’t decided if I prefer this over the hair oil that I use, but this is definitely more travel friendly. I will have to use this a little more to really determine if this is a new HG product for me.
