I’ve been actively trying to use up more of my products. I have this terrible habit of buying nice things and then “saving” them for a special occasion that never comes. Or I’ll use something until it’s almost gone and save 1-2 uses because I don’t want it to be gone. I’m trying to be better and acknowledge there will never be a special occasion so I should use it when I want to! My current method of just using what I want to hasn’t been the most effective, so I’m trying something new for the next few months.
At the beginning of the month I will choose a set of products that I think I can finish that month, or at least make a significant dent in. I will use incorporate these products in my regular routine and use alongside my staple products.
For July, I have picked the following products:
stila Convertible Color, Peony. I got this from a Sephora Favoirtes about two years ago. This is a beautiful color that gives my cheeks a natural looking flush. I’ve hit pan on this already but don’t know if I can actually finish it this month- with blush a little goes a long way. But being a cream product means it’s perfect for the summer!
Le Metier de Beaute Pressed Powder. I received this in a VIP box last year. I generally prefer loose powders over pressed, but this one reduces shine without looking cakey. I’ve been wanting to try the loose powder we got in the August box but need to finish this one first.
Laura Mercier Longwear Creme Eye Pencil, Violet. I love using this color on my waterline or smudged along my eyelid. I don’t wear eyeliner every day, but I will make a point to use it more often. It’s about halfway gone now, so I still have a ways to go but I can’t get closer to finishing it if I don’t try.
Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask. I received this in a birchbox in March, and have still only use it once. I was happy with the moisture it provided, although I’m not sure if the tanning aspect was there. Regardless, it will be a nice mask to use over the summer to add that summer glow without the harmful sun.
