At the end of October, I resubscribed to Birchbox using a code to get a free beauty blender. Because of that, I received my October and November Birchboxes a day apart! It was so fun being able to open these boxes so close together and the boxes are so perfect for me! I love trying everything from makeup to skincare to haircare, and both of these boxes had a good mix of everything. I am actually excited to try all the products in these boxes and will surely find a product or two to buy.
October 2015 Birchbox
I really love that Birchbox stepped up their box game and no longer have the boring cardboard boxes. This month was pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I think it’s so pretty! Now, onto the products:
BioRepublic Skincare Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask: I used this mask as soon as I got it and I’m already planning on using my points on more. It left my skin so soft and moisturized and had a really nice cucumber scent.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray: I’ve seen this product a few times but never bought it becasue I didn’t think I need a texturizing spray. However, since I received it in my box I actually took the time to read what it’s all about and reviews, and think I would benefit from it. I have oily hair that gets flat on no wash days, so I think this could be just the combination of dry shampoo and volumizer I’ve been needing.
Manna Kadar Lip Locked, Lucky: I already wrote a lengthy review of this here, so I won’t go into it again. I love this lip stain/gloss but since I already have a full size of this color, I can’t decide if I should gift this sample or throw it into my purse for touchups.
Avene Thermal Spring Water: From what I can see, this is just expensive water in a spray can. I’m sure it will be very soothing on hot days, but don’t think it will be much of a moisturizer or redness reducer. Regardless, it will be nice to use in hot weather.
stila huge extreme lash mascara: I haven’t had a chance to try this yet, but I’m really excited to based on reviews. The only things I care about with regards to mascara are no clumping and curling, and apparently this does both.
beauty blender original: This wasn’t part of my box, but I received it using a code when signing up, so it came with my box. I love the beauty blender and use it every time I use makeup, but like other sponges, it needs to be replaced occasionally. My current one could use a good wash, but besides that it’s still in great shape, so this will be backup.
November 2015 Birchbox
Ayres Body Polish: I have recently started taking better care of my body, and have been trying to moisturize after every shower. An important step for this is exfoliation so I’m excited to try this one out. Additionally, in the winter, I tend to use sunless tanners more often so that my skin has a little life and color, and I know how important exfoliation is in order to ensure a even, long lasting color.
theBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/Shadow: I have quite a few products from theBalm, but haven’t use their blushes even though they are so highly rated. This one is described as a natural rosy color which is great for my no-makeup days.
Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Sheet Mask: I am really happy to receive another moisturizing sheet mask. I love the one from the October box, and know this will definitely come in hand in the cold winter months.
Davines This is a Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid: My hair has always been a little frizzy, but nothing a bit of oil can’t control. However, this fall, my hair has been so frizzy and I can’t seem to do anything about it! I read that this product is great for frizziness, so I have high hopes for this.
LOC One & Done Shadow Stick, On Point: This was my sample choice and until I received and swatched it, I wasn’t sure the color was right for me. But, oh, it is! This color is less silvery than I expected and is instead a beautiful champagne color with just the right amount of shimmer. Between the color and the ease of application of a stick, I am sure I will use this stick up.
