I used to be chapstick everyday but lip balm on special occasions kinda girl. I loved a touch of bronzer and mascara (still do!), but I did not care at all about my lips. Recently however, probably due to samples in Birchbox and other subs, I’ve really started to enjoy lipsticks. I mostly love how easy they are to apply and how they can completely change your entire look. In particular, I am loving the my-lips-but-better trend and have three go-to shades for that look:
Milani Color Statement Lipstick, Teddy Bare. This is a cream formulation so it doesn’t have shimmer, a feature I really appreciate. This color is described as a pinkish-brown nude and you can definitely see the brown. It works for my medium complexion, but it might be too dark for lighter skin tones.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil, Rikugien. Described as a rose-pink, this is more pink than Teddy Bare. It also has a slight frost finish which adds extra dimension. I think this color is actually MLBB and I’ve been wearing it a lot recently. The pencil glides on easily but I do find it to be a bit drying.
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick, Liar. As the name suggests, this is a sheer color which means it can be built up for more intense color. Again, this is a pinky-brown color that looks works well with my coloring, although I think it’s more pink than brown. I also found that th is very moisturizing so it doesn’t dry out my lips.
Those are my favorite MLBB shades right now, do you have any others I should try?
