Today we will be chatting with the lovely Mireia from the fashion blog, The Gold Lipstick. The Gold Lipstick covers mostly fashion, but also has great beauty and food posts, as well as the occasional blog tip post.  She combines short but sweet posts with superb photography, making them a very enjoyable read. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello to her!

Where are you from?

Barcelona, Spain.

Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

I’m Mireia, a teenager that created the domain “thegoldlipstick.com”, a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. These categories maybe are a little bit generic, but more or less what I do is share outfits and fashion inspiration, try and review makeup and beauty products, share places that I love and food that I liked and sometimes I get inspired and I write some advice posts about life and other subjects.

How did you first get into blogging?

I was pretty young and I had my girl squad called “The Soul Sisters” and we created a webpage for us. In this webpage we wrote about lots and lots of things, but I was the only one who was every week sharing fashion posts. So one day I realized that I loved so much that and I thought: “Why not create your own webpage?”. And that’s the way I created my first webpage. I remember I did it with Jimdo, I put a lot of effort there but no one visited my site because it was not professional and the things that I shared were pretty stupid. So one day, two years ago, I decided to get more professional and I created my first blog “The Gold Lipstick” and I’ve been blogging there since then. I love it!

What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?

I started blogging without any social media support, and honestly that’s a must if you wanna be known. So, definitely I wish I had knew about the importance of social media when I started.

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

That’s pretty far! In five years I’ll finish college, so I hope I’ll have more time for my blog and more experience. I think that I’m going to travel somewhere, like London for example because I love it, and write about my life there. Honestly I think that things improve with time, so I hope my blog will do it as well.

What is your favorite aspect of blogging?

Sharing, helping and collaborating. That’s what I love. Sharing all the things that I discover and I love. Help other with things that you know you can really help (like styling, inspiration, beauty reviews, places to go, where to eat…). And lastly collaborating, not only with brands that is such a pleasure, but with other bloggers as well. I think that collaborations is the best way to learn and improve.

If I gave you $100, what beauty items that you don’t own would you buy?

Hmmm. Lipstick as always I guess. I can’t help myself with lipsticks. Every time that I see a drugstore with lipsticks I end buying one. But with $100 I would buy lots of makeup products from different affordable brands to try them later and write reviews. That’s what I currently do.

What skin care or beauty steps do you religiously take time for?

My skin is sacred. I take a lot of care of it because I think that is super important. So I religiously take time for exfoliating and moisturizing, face and body as well. That’s the most important steps for me.

What five fantastic products do you use now, and why do you love them.

Well, I’m so happy with a Clinique moisturizer called “dramatically different”, because I have oily skin, but everyone needs some moisturizer in their lives, and this is the one that works best for me.

Then I really love the compact powder from Shiseido Pureness. I feel like my skin doesn’t need foundation or BB cream for daily use, so I only apply this wonderful compact powder and I’m ready to go with a gorgeous velvet skin.

The third product that I think that is fantastic are Rimmel London lipsticks. The followers from my blog are tired of hearing me say that, but that’s true. I love Rimmel London lipsticks! The formula is great, they last so long and they’re so affordable. They’re perfect!

The next product is my shampoo. I think that I’ve never talked about it, but everybody always says that I have a gorgeous hair, and I think that’s because of my shampoo haha. I have tried a lot of different ones from lots of different brands (TRESemmé, Pantene, Garnier…) and I’m not unhappy with them, simply that they’re not the best for me. I have very thin hair and I’ve discovered that Timotei ones are the best for me.

And the last product are Kiko Milano nail polishes. I’m a nail polish addict, I have near 60. And pretty all of them are from this brand. The bad news are that the last time that I went to the shop they told me that they won’t do this nail polish any more because they have launched an other improved range. I guess we’ll have to try them!

What are two beauty blogs we should check out, and why do you love them?

I use to visit more fashion blogs than beauty blogs, but I know a few ones. The two best ones are:

Zoella: I think that you may know her because she’s pretty famous. She has a unique personality and happiness that I love. Her posts have a lot of quality and are very useful for beauty lovers (she writes about other topics as well).

Front Row Beauty: I love the way she writes her posts and the style of the blog. I think that her reviews are so useful too!

What is your favorite post to date? (include link)

Well, my favorite one is this but I have pretty exciting posts, even better I think, coming soon. I love them because of the amazing shots and outfits I’m styling

Do you prefer getting dressed up or being casual?

This question is pretty difficult. I always wanna look dressed up, but there are days when you don’t have the mood or you wanna feel more relaxed and wear casual clothes. So I think that the best style for me is wearing casual but looking dressed up. I know that maybe it sounds a little bit confusing but it’s possible!

What do you do in your spare time?

Blogging, blogging, blogging. I’m always doing things related with blogs. Sometimes I’m getting inspired with other bloggers, sometimes I go around the city for a walk to discover new things and blog about them, other times I’m taking photo shootings for the blog, then I’m writing new blog posts… But that’s not boring, I love it!

What is your favorite thing to do on a lazy weekend morning?

Sleep? Haha. Well, there are some weekend mornings that I love laying on the sofa with my coffee and watching random TV programs. That’s not a huge plan, but I like being there with my cat doing nothing. That’s why weekends are for, right?
