To kick-off the series, we will be chatting with the gorgeous Brittany from the beauty and lifestyle blog, KingdomofSequins. The combination of Brittany’s refreshing writing style, her beautiful photos and amazing product reviews, is sure to make her a fast favorite of yours. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello to her!

Where are you from?

I am born and raised in Dallas, Texas

Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

I am happily married to my best friend and we have a crazy, adorable 4 year old son, Ridge. I am also a stepmom to a beautiful teenage daughter, Chloe. I enjoy shopping, Mexican food, and spending quality time with my family. I am obsessed with my husband, bright colors, coffee, dogs, and CHRISTMAS!! Of course I can’t go without my daily glass of sweet tea. KingdomofSequins is a lifestyle blog that talks about everything from fashion advice to fitness tips.

How did you first get into blogging?

I started this blog as a platform for some “me” time and my love for writing. I not only built this blog as my creative outlet, but I also wanted to give the everyday woman fashion tips for any occasion in her life’s adventure! I love sharing “What I’m Loving Lately” and my “Monthly Favorites” for everything! The blogging community is the best place to meet the most amazing people who share the same passion.

What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?

I wish I would have started sooner. I have followed blogs since college due to my major. I always wanted to start one but wasn’t exactly sure how to get started and I didn’t feel like I was educated enough to run one. It is NEVER too late to start… J

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

Great question! I would love to have a successful lifestyle blog that people get inspiration from. Whether it be fashion, beauty, marriage or blogging tips my favorite blogs to read are always one’s that inspire me to be better. Being that I have a full time job, this is definitely my passion and something I would love to do fulltime.

What is your favorite aspect of blogging?

Blogging has actually introduced me to awesome people so far. Some of my followers became my friends, and many other bloggers that I have met along the way are my constant and best support. It is the truth that much of this kind of friendship happens online, but it doesn’t take its value away. And, yes, sometimes, we meet in real life, for a chat, or even work together in co-working spaces. We share our dreams and expectations, and life sounds much better after that. We all realize the more we pay it forward, the more it comes back. I never anticipated my blog would connect me with people who share my passion, interests and drive. Talk to other humans because again, that’s what this whole thing is all about. The network of people that you build will carry your blog.

If I gave you $100, what beauty items that you don’t own would you buy?

SKINCARE!!!

What skin care or beauty steps do you religiously take time for?

Taking my makeup off at the end of the day. I can not stand the feeling of 12 hour makeup on my face. I compare the sensation of taking your makeup off like taking your bra off… AMAZING! Taking care of my skin is really important since I did not do a good job of that in my 20’s. Sunscreen and moisturizer are your best friends J

What five fantastic products do you use now, and why do you love them.

Redken Pillow Proof Primer

These days, my hair is SO tangly – it’s really long again, plus with it constantly being up on top of my head it’s like knot-city. When I get out of the shower, this is the best thing ever for my hair. No tangles anywhere!

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

This stuff is amazing! Lightweight and easy for the summer months when you don’t want to layer so much on your face. I stopped using it for a couple months to try new products. I’m really happy I pulled his out again because I’ve forgotten how good it is! I’ve been using the light shade for a little bit for a brightening effect.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

First, let me say that NYX is one of my favorite drugstore makeup brands out there. Their prices are affordable and the quality of their products is just superb and often on par with high-end brands like MAC. I purchased the Soft Matte Lip Creams a couple months ago because of the great reviews and now I am totally hooked. These lip creams are always on point and last forever.

Anastasia Brow Duo

Before I purchased this product, I was just using pencil to color in my brows. Ive have had it for two months, I can definitely say that I love it! It works perfectly and does the job great. I still have over half of the product left. I love how you can get all the different shades, so when I dye my hair I can just get a different color!

Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals

This highlighter from Wet N Wild was a super big staple this spring. It sold out pretty much everywhere pretty fast. I was lucky enough to snatch one from good ole Walmart. Being pretty fare skin, I stuck with the lighter shade, Precious in Pearls. I am all about champagne highlighters, and Precious Petals falls right into that category. This is probably one of the best drugstore highlighters ever made. If you happen to stumble upon it, GRAB IT.

What are two beauty blogs we should check out, and why do you love them?

Allison from Sequin & Things: She is super real about her blogging career. Love her snapchats and all her fashion/beauty posts.

Paula from Thirteen Thoughts: Everything she posts is always so relevant to what is going on in my world. Makeup, Blogging, Lifestyle etc. Love following her blog.

What is your favorite post to date?

I did a sugar detox for 30 days and it was a great learning experience. I learned A LOT about what we put in our bodies. Following the detox, there are several things I have changed about my diet that are super beneficial. Check it out here.

Do you prefer getting dressed up or being casual?

I think it depends on what I have going on. I dress up every day for work but definitely not glammed out. Our office is pretty casual but hair and makeup are always on point. Weekends you can find me in athletic gear all day. If we do dinner or make plans I will get dressed up. You always have to be ready for that selfie moment J

What do you do in your spare time?

Spare time isn’t something I am familiar with… J However, blogging is something I love to do when I am not working, running around the house, chasing my child or catching up on my favorite shows. I have been thinking about starting a YouTube channel so my energy lately has been all things YT J

What is your favorite thing to do on a lazy weekend morning?

I am not sure what a lazy weekend is either but that sounds AMAZING!!! My weekends start off with a 6 mile run, swim lessons/soccer/activities for Ridge, lunch with family, projects around the house (new homeowners) and dinner/drinks.  Sundays look about the same except for adding in some cleaning J
