June 2015 Empties

IMG_2575Another month, another set of empties. I actually really like the end of the month when I pull out my bag of empties and think about every item and what I liked/didn’t like. I really like seeing what types of products I use and it gives me the chance to think critically about which products are worth repurchasing.

Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturizer Normal/Combination: I loved this moisturizer. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone, so I need a moisturizer for combination skin. This provides the moisture I need without leaving my skin greasy. Unfortunately, my husband hated the scent (so much that I could only use it when I knew I wouldn’t see him for hours- he could smell it even after a few hours!) so I won’t be repurchasing this.

L’Occitane Amande Cleansing & Soothing Shower Oil: I received this in a Sephora Favorites Kit a few months ago and finally got around to using it. I don’t actually like the almond scent of the L’Occitance products, I think it’s too artificial and sweet smelling. So I promptly used this up to be done with it.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra-Moisturizing Lip Balm: I kept this by my bed and used it every night before I went to sleep and some mornings before I applied lipstick. I really like this product. It’s super thick and moisturizing and leaves your lips feeling amazing. I have a few other lip balms to get through, but I will be repurchasing this when I need a new one.

Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer: This came as a gift with purchase with some order, and I have to say, I’m really happy I got it! It was a great scent that wasn’t overpowering and it made my hair feel really soft. I was using it in place of my detangler and it did a great job.

DERMADoctor Shrinking Beauty Body Lotion: I think this lotion is supposed to help tighten skin, but I don’t believe any product can really replace working out and eating well. Regardless, this was a nice moisturizing lotion that I applied after showering.

MAKE Dual-Phase Eye Makeup Remover: I love makeup removers with two phases that combine with shaking. It must be the scientist in me 🙂 I thought this was a great makeup remover because it removed even the most stubborn mascara and didn’t leave an oily residue. It’s already on my repurchase list.

Vasanti Brighten Up: Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator: I’ve already told you how much I love this product, so I’ll keep it short. I have traded for so many so I always have at least three backups. I like to use this a few times a week to keep my skin smooth and even.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume: I love this perfume so much, but have yet to buy the full size. I just finished my sample size which means it’s time…

Rival de Loop Face Wipes: More face wipes, what a surprise! This was a small sample pack that was perfect for travel. Although now I’ve pretty much switched to micellar water, so this may be the last pack you see here for a while.

Again, I’m happy with my progress this month. I seem to be going through skincare relatively quickly, but haven’t been making much of a dent in my makeup. With my Project Use Up, I hope to change that!
