How to Have an At-Home Spa Night

I secretly love when my husband is out of town for work because it offers me the perfect opportunity to have an at-home spa day. Don’t get me wrong, I do it all the time when he’s around. But I definitely take my time and spoil myself when I’m all alone.

I start by taking a nice hot bubble bath while reading a book. I love the Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Honey Bath; not only does it have lots of long-lasting bubbles, but it smells amazing and leaves my skin so soft. I’ve also gotten in the habit of doing a hair mask while taking the bath so it really penetrates my hair.
I’m currently using the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask I received in a Popsugar Must Have box a few months ago. I love the way my hair feels after washing the mask out- soft, manageable and definitely less frizzy!

Once I get out of the bath, I slather lotion all over my body. Between the heater blasting in these cold temperatures and hot water from bathing, my skin gets so dry. I’m normally not a big lotion person, but I need it during the winter. Luckily, I recently received the most delicious smelling one from a beauty swap (post coming later) that I have been loving. Check it out if great smelling and moisturizing lotions are your thing- White Etheriana Moisturizing Body Lotion  by Sonia Kashuk.

Finally no spa day would be complete with a face mask. I will switch up masks depending on my skin needs, but recently my skin has been breaking out like crazy so I’ve been using the Tata Harper Purifying Mask to help clear out my pores and cut out some of the oil. For a more in depth review of this mask, check out my review from last month here.

That’s it for my at-home spa day. What do you do for a relaxing evening at home?

  • This sounds divine! I don’t really do a spa day per se but I do give myself pedi / manis which is really pampering. I should remember to do a hair mask / treatment.

Giving yourself mani/pedis is so relaxing! I don’t do that nearly enough (my toes are in desperate need of a polish change), so I should definitely include that next time I have a little pamper time 🙂

  • That sounds lovely! I always find baths so relaxing especially with a good book

No bath is complete without a good read 🙂 Any book suggestions?
