I’m sure you’re familiar with the Glossier line, whose simplistic pink and white bottles have been popping up all over Instagram. The whole idea behind this product line is to perfect your skin so that it doesn’t need to be covered up with makeup, being real and not being covered up. That’s a philosophy I whole-heartedly stand by. I never wear makeup to cover up, but instead use it as a way to enhance my natural beauty. I want my real skin and self to show through, so I really feel like this brand was made for me.
I previously tried the priming moisturizer, moon mask and skin tint (which you can read about here and here), but I have been dying to try some new things, such as the milky jelly cleanser, concealer and gen g lipsticks. So when I saw a deal for free shipping and 20% off, I took the plunge and ordered both Phase I and Phase II to get a variety of products.
Phase I includes the milky jelly cleaners, priming moisturizer and balm dotcom. I have been using the cleanser every night and I love it. It is gentle, yet it does a great job at removing makeup and dirt from my face. My face feels clean after use, but doesn’t feel dry which often happens with other cleaners. My skin is left feeling soft and refreshed. Plus, this cleanser has an amazing scent. The priming moisturizer absorbs quickly, hydrates my skin well and provides a smooth canvas for makeup. I like that it’s buildable so I can add extra moisture in places that need a little more. I use a heavier cream at night, but I find this provides the perfect amount of hydration during the day. In the Phase I kit, I was able to choose from all 5 balm flavors, and I settled on rose. I love the way this balm makes my lips feel, but I don’t like the application method since it doesn’t seem very hygienic.
The Phase II set includes the stretch concealer, generation g and brow boy. I picked the shade medium for the stretch concealer, and it is a great match for me. The concealer is very creamy and blends effortlessly. However, it doesn’t provide a ton of coverage, which is actually fine for me to everyday use. I use it under my eyes since I have dark circles and it doesn’t cover them completely but definitely makes them less noticeable. Brow boy may be the best eyebrow tool I’ve come across. It thickens each individual hair so I don’t have to use any additional pencil or powder, but it also remains very natural looking. I will buy buying backups! The last item in the Phase II set is the generatin g lipstick. I debated on the color but I finally settled on crush, a hot raspberry pink. My first time using it my husband commented on how much he liked the color, because it looked like a more pigmented version of my natural lip color, which is exactly what I hoped it would be. It also feels good on and is pretty moisturizing.
