February 2016 Empties

With my big cross country move coming up in a few months, I’m trying to not only use stuff up but also discard items I no longer use. This month was only a few empties and the rest are items I didn’t want for whatever reason- didn’t like the scent, didn’t work for my skin, or just old. Read to to hear my thoughts on each product.

Onomie A.C.E. Illuminating Eye Treatment and Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir. I wrote a post about these products here,  so I won’t go to into it too much. I will say that I really liked both products and once I settle into my new home, I plan on at least purchasing the concealing elixir. I liked the eye treatment but am still on the fence about owning the full size. Either way, I think this is definitely a brand worth checking out.

Chanel Eclat Lumiere Highlighter Face Pen. I’m embarrassed to admit I got this many years ago, I would guess 5 or so years ago. I can’t remember the last time I used it so I decided it’s time to get rid of it. I used it as an undereye concealer and it was great at that since it has highlighting properties.

Honest Beauty Daily Beauty Fluid. As I spoke about in this post, I really wanted to love this entire line, but I couldn’t. I kept this thinking I would use it when I needed extra sun protection, but I just could not get past the scent.

Nude Skincare Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly. When I got this cleansing set, I was trilled to finally try this cleanser from Nude Skincare. This was an interesting mix between a cleansing oil and balm which become a milky cleanser when mixed with warm water. It cleaned really well, but left skin with a slightly oily residue. I noticed after a few uses that my skin started to break out, which may have been due to the residue.

Davines Love Shampoo. I got this and the conditioner from Birchbox two months ago and really liked the set. My hair has been really frizzy (probably due to the dry winter air), and this definitely helped combat that. It has a strong scent, but I actually like it so that didn’t bother me.

Ahava Time to Clear Purifying Mud Mask. I keep trying this out to see if the results will change, but every time it causes my face to breakout, so I finally had to let it go.

Foreo Celestial Melting Gel Night Cleanser. I used this sample with my Foreo Luna and thought they worked really well together. It is really gentle, but exfoliates well and leaves my skin soft and clean. If I didn’t have a million other cleansers, I would definitely invest in the full size.

Hey Honey Take it Off Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask. Unfortunately this sample was only large enough for two uses, but I loved it. I hadn’t used peel off masks since I was in high school but it was just as rewarding as I remember. I don’t know about it’s brightening effects, but it definitely left my skin clear and smooth.

Queen Bee Jasmine Body Oil. I have been using a lot of body oils to moisturize and soften my skin, but I realized I cannot stand the scent of jasmine so unfortunately, this had to go. The formula was really nice though!

What products did you use up and/or toss last month?
