Everyday Makeup Essentials

photoI’m a minimalist, and my beauty routine is no exception. From the moment I wake up until I leave the house, coffee in hand, I try to take no longer than 30 minutes. That means my makeup routine is pretty stream-lined, allowing no room for error or experimentation.

I start with the Miracle Skin Transfer Vanish Instant Imperfection Corrector. I actually discovered this by a sample from Nordstrom, and I liked it so much I bought the full size. I was never a primer user. In fact, this is the first full size primer I ever bought. This is a two in one product that acts as both a skin treatment to improve skin tone over time while reducing fine lines, and also a primer to reduce pore size and smooth skin. It’s quite expensive, but a little goes a long way- I’ve had mine for almost a year now and it still has at least a months worth of product. It’s great at helping makeup stay longer and I do feel like my skin looks better, less redness and dark spots, since I started using it.

You already know I have a soft spot in my hear for all things Jouer, so it should come as no surprise that the next product in my routine is the ever popular Jouer Matte Moisture Tint (in chamomile). I’ve always preferred tinted moisturizers over foundations because I find they look more natural and are easier to blend. This provides great coverage but can still be layered for those tricky spots or those days when your face isn’t looking it’s best. It also has SPF which is great if you’re like me and often forget that very important step!

I set my oily T-zone with Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Pressed Powder, which I received in the Le Metier de Beaute VIP subscription service.  This product only comes in 3 shades, and I hear most people could use shade 2, which is what I have. My favorite thing about this powder is that it doesn’t leave your face with an over-powdered look that others have. In fact, you can’t see the powder at all which is wonderful!

The blush, bronzer, highlighting products I use change pretty frequently, but right now I’m loving the Jouer Whisper Tint and Feather  highlighter duo I mentioned here. The tint is a sheer, shimmery peach color  that is similar to NARS orgasm. Some might not like that it’s so sheer, but I think thats great as it allows you to layer for your perfect pigmentation. The highlighter is a shimmery champagne color. These are both cream products so they’re very easy to apply with your fingers.

Eye products are the only thing that gets switched around. Right now, I’m enjoying the simplicity of the Jouer Creme and Espresso Eyeshadow Duo that I talked about here. I apply the creme all over the lid and then add espresso to the outer corner and the crease for extra definition. I then curl my eyelashes using Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash curler (which doesn’t pinch!) and add a coat of Benefit They’re Real mascara. I already talked about my love for this mascara here, so I wont go into it again. I will say this mascara is at the top of my list because it separates my lashes, doesn’t clump and holds a curl all day long.

Lastly, I swipe some of the NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm on my lips. It’s a very thick product so you have to be careful not to use too much. It leaves skin feeling very moisturized and prepped for any lip product you want to apply over.

So that’s my quick and easy makeup routine. What’s yours?
