I love love love dry shampoo. My hair gets greasy fast so I love having a quick and easy way to make my hair look fresh again. I don’t wash my hair everyday, so I tend to use dry shampoos every other day or so, so I have a collection since I use them up!
1. The Lulu Organics Lavender + Clary Sage dry shampoo is actually the first one I bought. To use this, I add some to my hands, rub them together and then rub them over my roots so soak up oil. I repeat this process 2 times to really get rid of the oil, but even then my hair does not look white. It can be a little messy since you pour powder in your hands, but once you get used to that it’s quite easy to use. Plus your hair is left with a faint lavender scent.
2. I received a travel sized Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk in a birchbox and have since then traded a few times for more. To use this, I spray it on my roots and let it rest for a minute or two before I comb it out in order to remove any excess powder and to make sure my hair doesn’t look white. Being a spray it is much easier to use than the lulu organics.
3. I bought the Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo during an Ulta sale because I use dry shampoos so much I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to my top 2 choices. I find that this one smells very strongly like hairspray, which I really don’t like. It does a fine job of getting rid of oil, but it changes the texture of my hair. I think I may be using too much, so I’ve started to spray less and then I sleep overnight with it, and comb it out in the morning. This seems to help.
4. I also bought the Batiste Dry Shampoo at Ulta because I have seen it raved about so much. Like the tresemme, I find that it leaves my hair white. But like the tresemme, I think I am applying too much product. I am still trying to figure out the best way to use this one.
What are you favorite dry shampoos? How do you apply them?
