After reading beauty blogs for years, I was bound to pick up a few products based on their reviews (like anything glossier, or theBalm, or these glow pads). Anytime I’m considering a purchase, I read blogs in order to validate my purchase. More often then not, I end up reading about, and buying, things I never had intentions of buying! I went through my makeup and found 5 blogger hype purchases that I use regularly that are actually worth the hype.
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. Blogger after blogger raved about the matte and the luminizing tints and seeing as that I love lightweight foundations and tinted moisturizers, I just had to get this. And I’m so glad I did. It’s the perfect tinted moisturizer that covers all imperfections and can be built up for extra coverage. I apply it with my beauty blender to ensure it looks as natural as possible. A little goes a long way; I’ve had my tube for over a year and it’s still going strong. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out, perhaps in a lighter shader for the months when I don’t have a tan.
TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer. I bought this without even really knowing what a highlighter was or how to use it! Therefore, I’m not the most knowledgable person on the highlighter front, but I love a light dusting of this on top of my cheekbones and in the corner of the eyes. It gives the most beautiful sheen, and is my go to highlighter year-round. It’s a beautiful champagne color that can also be used for eyeshadow.
Benefit They’re Real Mascara. It’s no secret that I’m a mascara junkie. So I had to have the mascara that is a blogger favorite. This mascara definitely lives up to the hype- it separates and lengthens lashes while also allowing them to hold a curl. One of my biggest issues with mascaras is that my curl doesn’t last, causing them to fall into my glasses (I have long lashes), so holding a curl is extra important to me. Therefore, this truly is the best mascara out there. It is a pain to get off, but that just means you have to use a second swipe of remover which is no big deal.
Hourglass Ambient Powder Lighting, Diffused Lighting. This was such a popular item, it was very hard to get my hands on, especially during the Sephora 15% sale. I was finally able to get it after stalking the site day after day. When I first bought this, I was a bit disappointed- I thought it was nothing special. However, I’ve been using it more and more on top of foundation, and it really does make my skin look airbrushed.
