I’ll be honest, I actually only bought this palette because I love Chrissy Teigen. I heard her talk at the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit last October and I loved her honesty about everything from being cast as a “large model” to politics to her relationship with John. It was so refreshing hearing someone so famous being so real. She even laughed at one point and said she her publicists would be upset she was telling the large model story again! In addition to being such a awesome person, she is absolutely gorgeous. So of course, I had to have the palette she made with Becca Cosmetics for her California glow.
This limited edition palette contains 3 new products, as well as Chrissy’s favorite highlighter. The new shades are the Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom, a golden pink coral, Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Beach Nectar, a golden apricot shade and the Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil, a medium bronze. Chrissy’s favorite existing color included in this quad is the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold, a golden rose. The palette is meant for the colors to be mixed and layered together for the perfect summer glow.
This is my first time using Becca powder products, and they did not disappoint. The color payoff is great and they show up really well on my medium skin. The color can easily be built up, so it should work on a large range of skin tones. Additionally, the colors blend easily so it’s hard to overdo it. Using this palette, you really can create the perfect sun-kissed look. My one gripe with this palette is that the highlighters are larger than the blush and bronzer and I was it were the other way around, as I’m more of a bronzer/blush gal than highlight one. (That’s not to say I don’t adore highlighters, find my favorites here!) Overall though, I am really happy with this palette. Plus as you can see, the packaging alone is gorgeous and worth the investment!
