August/September 2015 Empties

Since I was traveling all of August, I never got around to doing an empties post, so this is a combination of August and September. I made a point to do more face masks (and take some “me time”) which is why I have so many foils! I also finished some of my favorite products but I can’t replace them until I use up more of the same type. Read on to hear my thoughts.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle. For the most part my hair is manageable, but I still love to use a detangler after showering. This is the best I found for leaving my hair tangle free, soft and also smelling great. It’s actually one of my top 5 finds from Birchbox, which you can read more about here.

Yes To Blueberries Wipes. Again with the wipes, I know. These were another Birchbox find and were the first I used and really liked. They don’t leave my skin feeling tight but are still strong enough to actually remove makeup and dirt.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I wrote a review on this here, but in summary this was very refreshing and nice to use, but not sure it works in the long run to help with wrinkles and aging. I used it for about 2 weeks which I don’t think is enough time to really determine long-term effects.

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser. Another Birchbox find that was love at first use. This cleanser is grainy but foams up upon exposure to water. I like to use just a little bit of water so I can feel the exfoliation and then it foams up while I’m washing my face. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and fresh. One thing to note, if you buy the full size jar, make sure you use it in a timely fashion because it hardens and makes it really hard to use over time. After using this again, I’m really tempted to use some of my Birchbox points on this!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara. Yet another Birchbox find (I guess everything I use I discovered through Birchbox!) that made it to my top 5 Birchbox finds list. This is my absolute favorite mascara because it doesn’t clump and it holds my curl which are the two most important things to me in terms of my eyelashes. I will forever love and use this mascara.

Bio-Oil. I used this oil consistently after getting out of the shower. I gently patted my skin dry and then slathered the oil all over. It was pretty oily (haha), so it took a while for it to absorb into my skin but once it did, my skin was so soft! I know lots of people use it for stretch marks, but I can’t really speak to that. I’m sure I’ll turn back to this when I’m pregnant so I’ll find out then if it helps with that.

Rose de Chloe Perfume. I have love with this perfume for about a year now, but still haven’t taken the plunge to own the full size. I have so many perfumes (see them all here) that it just doesn’t make sense to own another one. I love how this perfume has a rose scent that is subtle and not overpowering. It’s great if you want a floral perfume that doesn’t smell old or too strong.

In addition, I used up 7 face masks from brands including Freeman, Befine, SK-II and some Korean masks I got in a swap.

How did you do in September?

  • The they’re Real mascara is one of my absolute favorites too! Great post!

  • I have an empties post too! And I love bio oil. I should whip it out for the colder months.

  • Alice Percival

Wow! You used loads of face masks! Nice one – I love face masks but I just never find the time to use them!

    • I made an effort to use them weekly! I loved the excuse to relax 🙂
